Mijn Schatje

So, after posting about actual doll theft by LadySaiyuki, I figured I should post about doll art theft by Mijn Schatje.

She takes photos of BJDs, traces over them and adds some embellishments, and calls them 'art'. Now, this wouldn't be so terrible if she had permission. She doesn't, of course. And she's selling these 'works of art'.

Yes, she's worked with playstation, she's made 'fashion', jewelry, and all kinds of stuff with other people's traced doll photos on them!

I feel so betrayed...

I found this really cool doll that I liked alot, she really reminded me of Asleep Eidolon Pear (who i love). Then I started really thinking she might be a copy. Well it seems my suspicions were true. DOA and Asleep Eidolon have said that it's a copy. She's banned on DOA now.

This doll is "LadySaiyuki's" Serenity. But she's really just a combination of doll parts from other companies.

I've never actually met LadySaiyuki, but have met people at meetups who knew her and have heard a bit about her and I started to feel like I knew her a little because she's one of the few (only?) BJD makers in Florida. And now this. I was even considering buying one of her yo-sd size dolls a while back, to support a local 'artist'. Technically those dolls are 'original' but then again no one has proven that.

I hope she is taken out of IDEX.

My birthday/christmas present from my amazing parents!!! She was scheduled to arrive Dec. 1 and I got her today! She is everything I hoped for, and the color combos worked out perfectly! She's a lot smaller than I thought she would be! I'm really amazed by her quality and posability!

So excited. Once again. The wait once the doll has shipped is far worse than waiting for the doll to be made. Because now I know she is in the mail and could possibly get lost or damaged. I know that she is bubblewrapped very well though. Luts has good packaging. I'm not that worried. You wouldn't think ordering a doll/waiting for one would be such an emotional experience. But it is a whirlwind of emotions.

My little chihuahua, Lullabelle (aka Doozy) is sitting underneath my computer chair right now, being adorable. My brother just got here for Thanksgiving and I think she's scared of him. Or maybe she's just annoyed that i'm getting another doll, and therefore will pay less attention to her. LOL.

Well I have an SD sized (Souldoll Byeol, Grace), MSD sized (Goodreau Whisper, Toile) and teeny tiny (Puki Lily, Kiwi) so I decided a few months ago that I definitely want a yo-sd sized doll. They're like 1/3 scaled toddlers. 26cm. So I decided on a Luts Honey Delf Lolly.

HERE is what she looks like.

HERE are the eyes. The pupils aren't black, and overall they're very bright, but I like them.

HERE is the outfit (the one on the right) the shoes won't work and the leggings will be kinda long.

She's going to be a combined birthday/christmas present. My birthday's Nov. 30 so we're going to order her on Oct. 30! I can't wait!!

Very sweet photos, this is her new outfit (Musedoll Lollipop), and I decided to put a bow in her hair, which is new. I'm not sure what it is, but it's very long and a lovely saturated wine color. Phantasmagoria on DOA refreshed her faceup and changed her brow color to match the wig, for free. She's awesome. This happened at a recent meet...i'm not sure I have the pictures of it...anyway, sorry for the color of the photos, I always get the urge to take dolly photographs at night. And indoors. Grr.

A Decision

So before I was thinking I would sell all my non-BJDs but now i've decided to keep them *coughfornowcough*. I've also decided that from now on i'm only collecting 'tiny' bjds. And maybe anthros. The best thing about these dolls is they don't take up a lot of space, they're cheaper, you can find clothes for them much easier in regular doll clothes (like Kelly and Bratz)plus eyes, wigs and other stuff for them is cheaper. Here are the current dolls on my wishlist, (narrowed down from about 50) in no particular order.

1) Elfdoll Bong Sun Hwa. This adorable thing is only 14cm (5.5 inches) tall. The first time I saw her I thought she was really weird looking, but she's slowly grown on me like an evil dolly parasite! She's just so sugary and happy.

2) Elfdoll Hana Angel. This darling is actually the first BJD I ever saw in real life, at this big doll sale (not even BJDs, just baby dolls and barbies) and one of the women working there somehow we got to talking about BJDs and she pulled a Hana Devil (other version with tan skin, black hair and devil outfit) out of her pocket (naked and with no clothes on) but she was still just the cutest thing ever! One of the coolest things about this doll is her 4 faceplates. She has normal, happy, sad and sleeping faceplates and they all come with eyes (except sleeping). Plus I like her wig and little dress. She's a little bigger than the others at 20cm (7.9 in) tall, but still considered a 'tiny'.

3) Dollmore Banji Elf Elly EomJi. I've never really been into Banjis but once I started looking at tiny dolls more often I just fell in love with her. She's 14.5 cm (5.7 in) tall.

4) Pipos Minty Cheshire. This is an 'anthro' bjd, meaning anthropomorphic, as in human and animal. You see that it is a cat, but has some human characteristics. It's based on the Cheshire cat from Alice in Wonderland. Some people think that this sculpt is very creepy, but I think it's absolutely adorable and cheeky. She's 21 cm tall. 8.3 inches. Wow, she's bigger than I thought.

I knew she was going to be small. I even saw one in person a few weeks ago (at my first meetup :)) But I guess I forgot because she is TINY!!! I'm madly in love with her. She even got the purdy purple eyes I asked for, yay!

My Goodreau didn't sell, but my BBB Erin did. And then I realized that I didn't want to sell either of them. So I tearfully sent of my BBB Erin to her new owner. Then I unstrung my Goodreau. I realized that I was having trouble bonding with her. So i'm going to completely customize her. That's what BJDs are about anyway. I'm going to give her a new faceup, blush her body, separate her toes/fingers, give her a mani/pedi, wire her and hot-glue suede her. Me and my mom bought some chalk pastels for her faceup, I still need to get some Testor's Dullcote, Non-acetone nailpolish remover, wire, sandpaper, mask, and elastic. I should be finished with all of this by February, if school doesn't interfere too much. Since I sold my BBB Erin, I realized I needed another tiny. So my mommy and daddy let me get a Puki Lily for Christmas. I'd been eyeing her for a while.

BJD Meetup!

I just bought this cute outfit for my Blythe doll and then realized that it actually fits a lot of my dolls! It's so cute and versatile.

The outfit fits Blythe and Dal very well. It also fits my Pullip, Top Model Barbie and Lollipop Girl, but it isn't a perfect fit. It's cute for photos though. The shoes fit Blythe, Dal, and Pullip.

Overall it's a very nice outfit and great quality for the price. The zip zips up and if you have dolls with normal sized heads they can use the hoodie. The socks are connected to the shoes. It also comes with cute little undies. I think it was about $8.00.

I just ordered me a new Blythe doll. She's absolutely perfect and she was a good price. She's coming from Hong Kong, so she won't be here for a while :(

She's got short ash blonde hair and 4 (FOUR) custom eyechips!
They aren't pink,orange,green and blue like normal blythes!

they're light green, light blue, grey and brown and they're GORGEOUS!!!
She also has the new 'radiance' face mold which looks more like Kenner blythes.
And she comes with the cutest nautical outfit!!

Today I got the urge to dress up my barbies, so I picked my favorite, Top Model Nikki. I wanted to dress her up in stylish clothing and take artistic pictures to make it like a fashion editorial. I hope you like it!

Some of the shots didn't turn out exactly how I wanted them, but I ended up liking the way it looked. If you see clear plastic between her legs, it's her stand. I couldn't really take pictures without it. But I don't really think it's that noticeable.

The title of this 'editorial' is Un moment d'extase de mode which means: A Moment of Fashion Ecstasy.

Wow, so me and some of my family went to Disney over the weekend (we left on Sat. and got home Sun.) When we got home I found a thing from the post office saying they tried to deliver her on Sat. So me and my mom went to pick her up! I'm so happy! These are 'box opening' photos, which a lot of BJD owners do. It's like a ritual sort of. Usually there are pictures of a cat in the shipping box, but my cat wasn't too cooperative :( And I named her Grace, which wasn't even on my list. Funny how that happens.

OMG! I AM SO EXCITED!!!

I got an email from Souldoll on the 8th saying my dolly was shipped! (From Korea) so she should be here next week or so!!! I wasn't that excited at first, because seeing as she's a graduation present, I thought i'd have to wait until graduation (29th) to open her. But, I have to open her to check for damage anyway and my parents said it would be silly to just leave her in there until graduation, so I get to have her as soon as she gets here! I don't think I can remember ever being this excited. Well maybe. But i'm pretty darn excited.

I am going to post so many pictures that one post will take up the whole first page of my blog. Be afraid, be very afraid!!

And now, for names. I won't know until she's here yet of course, Toile's name took me about a month or so to decide. But here's a little (*cough*) list I made up:

Lola (i just heard that song and was like, that's a cool name for my doll)

Getting my first 60cm BJD.

Im getting my first 60 cm doll (that's almost 2 feet!)

She's actually only 55 cm, but it's in the 60 cm range.

She's going to be a Souldoll Byeol, normal skin, default faceup.

She's going to come with a free wig and pair of eyes. Hopefully she will fit into my Pullip's wigs.

First, here is the new pullip I got for Christmas, Aquel.

These are all of my boy dolls. Some myscene doll, an adorable little baby thing I found at an antique store and a Ken doll who greatly resembles someone I know.

I've started to collect Kelly dolls now, one for every holiday. I have the Christmas and Valentine's one and I can get the Easter one now but I think I missed the St. Patrick's one...

My lolipop girl. She has jointed elbows and her hands are different, there's also a hole in one of them that you can stick a doll sized lollipop into.

Hello readers. I know it's been a while since i've posted but i've not really been feeling up to taking pictures lately. During Christmas break from school i'm sure I will take tons of pictures of my dolls, and of course, any new dolls I get. I do have many more dolls in my collection to take pictures of, I just wanted to get the high-end ones done with first. The rest of my dolls are inexpensive, but still awesome!

I'm not too fond of Alex dolls, I must admit. But I saw this gorgeous doll at Tuesday Morning for a splendid price ($3o instead of $120) and just had to get her. She has a great outfit, cute acessories, nice hair and face, and she actually has some joints! This girl is called 'Cocktail Chic Sienna Evans'.

Blythe-Mademoiselle Rosebud

Blythes have a long, interesting history.

This a neo-blythe by Takara, called Mademoiselle Rosebud. She has light customization done to her. Here she is in her original outfit.

If you read the above link fully you will know that blythes, not unlike Pullips, have an eye mechanism. They have a pullstring coming out of their heads which allows you to change the color and position of their eyes.

Pullips and Dal

What are Pullips you ask? Why, they are one of the greatest dolls ever! They are made by a Japanese company called Jun Planning, cost anywhere between $70-$700 (without S+H), they have jointed bodies that fit well into Barbie Fashion Fever clothes (type 3 does at least, I only have type 3 bodies Pullips) and have an eye mechanism that allows them to move their eyes from right to left and blink. Most of them are wigged which means you can pull their hair off and put new hair on!!! I have 3 pullips: RIDa, Papin and Brand New Purezza. I got most off ebay and one from Pullip Style. I bought Brand New Purezza nude because I wasn't too fond of her outfit. Mine were mostly in the cheap end of the price spectrum ($100 including S+H). I know most people reading this think it's an insane amount of money, but you must not have heard of BJDs (Ball jointed dolls). I will be doing a post about them soon enough and you'll see how expensive they are. Moving on, most pullips are pretty well-priced (to my knowledge), and only the rare ones cost upwards of $200. They come with outfits, accessories, a stand, and a collectible card.

The first Pullip I ever got was a RIDa. I have been deliberating a while but I now think her name is Rhonda. Here she is, in the awesome outfit she came with:

The next two Pullips I got around the same time (Christmas 2006). The first one is Brand New Purezza, named Julius (from Orange Julius :)) wearing an outfit consisting of clothes I found at a Goodwill, so unfortunately I have no idea what they are. Her shoes and bracelet do come from my Papin's outfit, and I know her purse is Licca.

Last is Papin, she's my favorite (don't tell the others!) She is just gorgeous, the photos do her no justice, she is absolutely stunning in real life! Her name is Candy. She's wearing a barbie fashion fever outfit.

Now, Pullip's got a boyfriend, and he's got a little sister. Her name is Dal. They are basically like smaller Pullips. They do not have the blinking eyes, but they do move from side to side. Their bodies are also slightly more poseable than Pullips. This one is wearing a Bratz outfit. She is a Hina Ichigo named Whitney.

Hey. Top Model Barbies are awesome. For rizzle. Anyways, I just got Nikki and Barbie today, I already had Summer. Here are their photos.

First we have Summer. She's got great hair, lovely color, with cool ringlets. Her face is really nice, sorta reminds me of the Silkstone barbies. Her outfit is awesome. She came with soo much great stuff, and she was only $15! My favorite part of the stuff would have to be the little portfolio they come with (you know, like the ones real models carry their photos in). It shows a picture of all the stuff they come with, then the other pages show outfits you can make using the stuff you get. Her boots are pretty butt kicking too. (All of their shoes are). Here's her pic:

Next is Nikki. She's definitely my fave. Her hair is frigging awesome and her clothes are really high quality and detailed (i think it's because she came out after the initial 3, that is, Barbie, Teresa and Summer.) She definitely is the prettiest and has the best face, in my humble opinion.

Last but not least is Barbie. Not sure if you can really see it in the picture (I didn't even notice til I got her out of the box) but she has black highlights in the back of her hair. Awesome. Her hair is really pretty but slightly hard to keep flat.
